In 2002, the Morgan Hill Downtown Association (MHDA) was formed to guide and manage the revitalization efforts for the heart of the city. Incorporated as a 501(c)(6) tax exempt non-profit corporation, the MHDA has a full-time Executive Director and a Board of Directors that represents key stakeholders of Downtown Morgan Hill including local businesses, residents, city government and other interested parties. With funding from the City of Morgan Hill's Redevelopment Agency (RDA) and membership dues, the MHDA:
- Plans Promotional Events
- Offers Co-Op Advertising
- Provides an All-Inclusive Web Site
- Recruits Targeted Restuarants, Retail and Entertainment Uses
- Keeps merchants, residents and land owners informed of issues effecting the downtown
The Morgan Hill Downtown Association continues to update the Downtown Plan in conjunction with several other organizations and departments including the City of Morgan Hill, Redevelopment Agency, Architectual Review Board, Planning Commission and many other stakeholders. This update will also include incentive programs to encourage investor confidence of potential developers and merchants.
A quarterly newsletter informs members of current events in the downtown and periodic membership meetings give downtown constituents as a chance to network, voice opinions and foster coordinated activities.
