Dear Chef Sal and Ashley,
I was very disappointed to find that one of my favorite small simple Morgan Hill restaurants, Mangia La Pizza, was no longer in existence when I stopped by the other night. I had worked late and was looking for a simple soup and salad in a familiar setting before heading home to San Jose. But, I was happy to find that there was something still open so I decided to give this new restaurant, Odeum, a try. The menu looked intriguing, even if I hadn't heard of some of the dishes before.
I ordered my soup and salad, although I seriously thought about trying a few of the other dishes to satisfy my curiosity. My intrigue turned to delight after tasting the homemade lentil soup. My delight turned to excitement after the beet salad arrived. My excitement settled into a sheer enjoyment as I consumed both dishes, along with the warm flat bread.
So, enough food critic speak! I enjoyed meeting you, having a great meal, and seeing your lunch menu. I will certainly tell my coworkers they should give you a try. Although I don't live here, I've been a business owner and fan of Morgan Hill for 15 years and am happy to know you are making your restaurant home in "our" town. Since that first night, I've been back now I don't know how many times, and each time I'm so pleasantly surprised.
I know what it means to start and run a new business. It's not easy and I wish you all the best. I hope you stay a very long time and that your entrepreneurial endeavor is everything you desire. Best wishes. Caroline
